There is a separate login area for modifying an examination date (see instructions).

Registration follow-up appointment not possible?

The error message "This registration cannot be completed with this information! There is already a booking in this offer group with your data. You can only book one offer from this group" (message appears in german or french) tells you that...

  • a partial exam is still pending (theory not yet passed or similar)
You can only register for 1 partial exam at a time according to the order of instructions.
  • you are not yet activated for a new booking, because your registration attempt is on the day of the exam.

FAQ

  • Until when is it possible to unsubscribe online?

You can cancel your registration online until the registration deadline of the exam. After that, we advise you to cancel your registration by email.

  • Unable to register, error message

Re-registration after failing the exam: if you failed the exam today, you will only be able to register for a new date after midnight. Until then, an error message will indicate that there is already a registration in the same category.

For any other error messages, please take a screenshot and send it to info(at)shv-fsvl.ch.

  • No training control sheet available. What should I do?

You can obtain the training control sheet free of charge from your flight school. If, for any reason, you are unable to bring a control sheet to the theory exam, the examiner will have a few blank ones with him or her.

You must bring the completed training control sheet with confirmation of your eligibility for the examination to the practical exam.

  • Passenger from abroad (tandem exam)

I will be flying with a passenger from abroad. What documents are required for the exam?

Passengers may be pilots from abroad. They must bring their own national licence to the exam, which must show:

    • that they are pilots (at least IPPI 4 level), so to be on the safe side, they should also bring their IPPI card, and

    • that they do NOT have a licence for Biplace 3 or Biplace 1 (depending on the exam).

  • Borrowed paraglider for the exam

I have borrowed a paraglider – what documents do I need to bring with me?

In addition to your own insurance certificate, you must bring the owner's insurance certificate (the number is on the paraglider) to the exam.

For a paraglider belonging to a flying school: bring the flying school's insurance certificate (SHV membership card) with you.

  • A calculator for a theory exam?

No. The exam is designed so that it can be completed without a calculator.

  • Waiting lists

There are no waiting lists for pilot exams. If a cancellation is made before the registration deadline (max. 4 days before the start of the exam), the date will be reopened for registrations online.

Waiting lists are possible for Biplace 3 and flight instructor training. You will be contacted as soon as a place becomes available. However, the SHV recommends that you register for a later available date for these exams.

  • Additional exam data

When are additional exams held and how will I be informed?

    • Pilot exams: If the dates are fully booked for 7-8 weeks, the SHV will organise additional dates. As soon as an earlier date is posted for a location, all persons who are booked for a later date at the same location will be informed by email.
    • Biplace 1 solo flight exam & Biplace 3 tandem flight: Add your name to the waiting list for the desired exam. As soon as an additional date is posted online, everyone on the waiting list and those who are booked for a later date in the same region will be notified by email.

Reissue of license (without duplicates)

From January 1st, 2026, no separate fees will be charged for license extensions, reissues (without duplicates) and renewals. These costs will be included in the corresponding examination fee in future.
