Inclusion

Inclusion in sport

Inclusion in sport means that everyone – regardless of physical, mental or social differences – should have the opportunity to participate actively in sport as independently as possible. The aim is to break down barriers and create an environment where the highest priority is given to enabling people to participate in sport as independently as possible.

Key elements of this are:

  • self-determined collaboration and
  • equal partnership on an equal footing.

Inclusion helps to build a fairer and more sustainable future and is therefore a key part of social responsibility. Sport in general offers valuable opportunities to promote inclusion in a fun way, to overcome barriers and to foster a sense of ‘we’ by experiencing what we have in common.

Inclusion in para- and hang gliding

Our aim is to enable anyone interested to take up paragliding independently, provided they meet the basic requirements. This includes people of all ages, sizes and abilities, as well as those in wheelchairs (paraplegics) and people with other disabilities. In line with Swiss Olympic’s philosophy, our sport should be accessible to everyone, regardless of their individual abilities and backgrounds.

We want people with and without disabilities to be able to takeoff together. Everyone brings their own strengths to the table, which makes us diverse and strong. We want to break down prejudices and strengthen our community. Our aim is to create accessibility by adapting training and further education, the necessary equipment, the infrastructure and the flying sites so that no one is excluded or disadvantaged due to a lack of resources.

In collaboration with our members, our efforts involve providing and making available the necessary resources, expertise, materials and infrastructure.
